How to cancel a subscription on iPhone
Most app subscriptions on your iPhone are billed by Apple, not by the app itself. That means you cancel them in one place — your Apple Account settings — and the subscription keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for.
Apple bills App Store subscriptions to your Apple Account payment method, so they can be easy to lose track of when a card statement only shows "Apple".
Cancel from Settings on iPhone or iPad
- 1Open the Settings app.
- 2Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- 3Tap Subscriptions.
- 4Tap the subscription you want to stop.
- 5Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. If you don't see a cancel option, the subscription is already cancelled or is not billed through Apple.
Cancel from the App Store
- 1Open the App Store and tap your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- 2Tap Subscriptions.
- 3Select the subscription, then tap Cancel Subscription.
If the subscription isn't listed
- 1The service is billing you directly rather than through Apple.
- 2Sign in on the provider's own website and cancel from your account or billing settings.
- 3Check your bank or card statement for the merchant name if you are unsure who is charging you.
Frequently asked questions
Do I get a refund when I cancel?
Cancelling stops future renewals. Apple handles refunds separately through its Report a Problem page, and refunds are granted case by case.
Can I keep using the app after cancelling?
Yes. Access normally continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
How do I stop free trials turning into paid plans?
Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, since Apple renews subscriptions within 24 hours of the renewal date. Setting a reminder in Pulse Due gives you warning before that window closes.
